I talk to many people when I visit sites.  It is always interesting to listen to those who have been doing FIFO for years and loving it. ‘How is it you are so happy?’ I often ask.

The answers I get are enthusiastic and varied but are captured in these 8 essential ingredients for happiness:

  1. Be sure to have something you love doing and is a passion.
  2. Get connected and belong to something bigger than yourself.
  3. Focus on others, give and contribute instead of just thinking about yourself.
  4. Be flexible and open to change.
  5. Enjoy variety & the unexpected & get involved!
  6. Focus on what is going well, be grateful and do things to actively increase feeling good.
  7. Enjoy and BE in the moment rather than focusing on the past or the future.
  8. BE happy, that is make the choice to think, feel and be happy!
