An introduction to FIFO Housemate

I’d like to let you all know firstly who I am and secondly what we can help you out with. My name is Daniel Del Borrello and I’m a 27 year old school teacher by trade and my brother Chris is a 26 year old FIFO worker in the oil and gas industry.
We have created the website www.fifohousemate.com.au. Basically, it is a website where people with rooms, storage space or houses to rent, upload their listing trying to attract a FIFO worker like yourself. The listings are all over Australia and we are just starting to get villas from Indonesia too.
FIFO Housemate is a tailored service for you, the FIFO worker and for the home owner who wants a housemate that works FIFO. We wanted to make it as easy as possible for FIFO workers to find accommodation as we could. There are hundreds of rooms and houses available online basically anywhere you want to live. All you need to do is jump on the site and choose where you want to stay. We do realise there are some FIFO people who already have a house or don’t like the idea of sharing a house. But …
Our service is really for those of you who don’t like coming home to an empty house or living alone on your time back. The best thing about renting a room where people already live is that you have instantly got house mates to have a beer with or catch up with on things that have been happening while you’re away. Speaking from personal experience some of my best memories come from living in a 6 x 3 bachelor pad where I always had someone home to hang out with or company to do stuff with on the weekend. I will share these stories in coming blogs.
I have FIFO mates that have spent buckets on their cars, boats and bought mad jet skis.
